Chocolate Rice Krispie Buns

For the KidsThe first thing most Irish children ever make. No oven, no sharp knives, and ready before anyone loses interest.
Ingredients
- 1 large bar Dairy Milk — Cadbury
- 3 tbsp butter — Kerrygold
- 2 tbsp golden syrup
- 3 cups rice cereal
- 12 paper bun cases
Method
- Line a bun tray with the paper cases.
- Break the chocolate into a heatproof bowl with the butter and syrup.
- Sit the bowl over a pan of barely simmering water and let it melt, stirring now and then. An adult should do this bit.
- Take it off the heat and tip in the cereal.
- Stir gently until every last piece is coated in chocolate.
- Spoon into the cases and chill for an hour until firm.
Tip: Melting the chocolate over water rather than in the microwave keeps it glossy instead of grainy. One for the children: no oven and no sharp knives needed — an adult is only wanted for the melting.
