The Tayto Crisp Sambo (For the Wee Ones)
Tap an ingredient we stock to add it to your order.
Kid-FriendlyEvery Irish child's favourite lunchbox trick, and the easiest thing on this whole page — soft bread, butter, and a good crunch of Tayto crisps squashed right in. Grand craic for kids to build themselves, no cooker needed.
Ingredients
- 2 slices soft white bread (or a soft roll)
- Butter, softened — Kerrygold
- 1 small bag Tayto Cheese & Onion crisps — Tayto
Method
- Butter both slices of bread right to the edges — this is the wee one's job.
- Open the bag of Tayto and tip the crisps out onto one slice of bread, covering it edge to edge.
- Pop the other slice on top and press down gently until you hear a satisfying crunch.
- Cut in half on the diagonal — always tastes better cut on the diagonal, ask any Irish granny.
- Eat straight away, while the crisps are still crunchy!
Tip: No cooking, no sharp knives needed for the crisp bit — perfect for younger kids to help build themselves, with an adult on bread-cutting duty.
